"Cry for Y'all", also known as "Cry for Yous (Y'all'll Never Run into Me Again)" on Hard2Beat,[i] is a song by Swedish singer Petra Marklund, performing every bit September. As of November 2010, "Cry for Y'all" has been certified Gold in the United States for sales of over 500,000 copies, making September the first Swedish singer to receive a Gold certification in the United states of america since Ace of Base's 1998 hitting "Vicious Summer".

In late 2018, nearly 12 years after its release, the song was turned into a meme on Twitter, thanks to its "you'll never run into me again" lyrics.[3]

Composition and release [edit]

Before the worldwide release in 2007, September had originally recorded the song for her studio album In Orbit (2005). However, in many compilations September has released, the vocal has appeared on her compilations including September, Dancing in Orbit, Gold and Weep for You - The Album. Co-ordinate to September, she explained the reason why she wanted to release it worldwide, past maxim "The song was and then strong past itself. In an interview with Digital Spy, they asked about the background of the song, when she replied:[iv]

Critical reception [edit]

"Cry for You" received positive reviews from music critics. Nick Levine from Digital Spy awarded the song with four stars out of five, giving information technology a positive review. He stated "[...] it's a surprisingly affecting Eurodance number, a record that's both relentlessly danceable and desperately lamentable" and said its "actually a pretty decent record."[x] However, he felt the song was non "original" plenty to outbet releases by fellow Swedish vocaliser Robyn. Popjustice said the vocal is a "massive balls-out club anthem and nosotros recall it works rather well."[11] Ben Norman from Near.com called the song the "Best Dance Crossover Track", while maxim "Robbins [Amusement] has since made peace with me by backing and promoting Swedish singer September and this Europop confection. AllMusic had rated the song iii-and-a-one-half-stars out of five stars.[13] K. Ross Hoffman, also from AllMusic, had highlighted the song as an album standout, and said "'Cry [for You lot]' is the obvious standout, managing to conjure both composure and a surprising degree of emotion from its fairly pedestrian frothy electro-popular system and polished but powerful song turn."[14] However, he too added "'Cry for Y'all' is a strong plenty track (though fairly faceless likewise, in its way) [...]."
